Sponsored by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, the competition will be held on December 21-22.
Over 400 participants, comprising men and women from various Nepalese states and governorates, are expected to take part in the preliminary qualifiers, Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.
According to the report, the event is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to promote the teachings of the Holy Quran among young Muslims worldwide.
The competition will conclude on December 23 with an awards ceremony recognizing the winners. The event will be attended by officials from various Islamic centers and schools across Nepal.

The inaugural competition, held on February 10-11, was a collaborative effort between the Saudi ministry and the Islamic Commission of Nepal. A total of 350 male and female participants competed in separate sections.
Eighteen contestants were named as winners and received awards at the ceremony.
Nepal, a landlocked nation in the central Himalayas of South Asia, has a Muslim minority comprising about 5 percent of its population. Despite this, Islam has become the fastest-growing religion in the country, now ranking as the second-largest faith by number of followers.
